International Opportunities

  • World YWCA Council

World YWCA Council is the biggest event in the YWCA movement. Representatives from each affiliated association come together to elect the members of the World YWCA Board, to set priorities for the coming year’s work and to determine policy through resolutions and recommendations.

  • The UN Commission on the Status Women

Each year, YWCA Australia sends a delegation to the United Nations’ Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) in New York City. In 2015, there were 90 representatives. CSW is a functional commission of the United Nations Economic and Social Council, and is the principal global policy-making body dedicated exclusively to gender equality and advancement of women.

  • World YWCA Internships

Offering both short- and long-term options, World YWCA’s internships provide a unique opportunity for young women from member associations to work as part of the World YWCA staff and volunteer team in Geneva.
